Moral Philosophy Goes Viral

An article I wrote about Michael Sandel, the rock star of moral philosophy, appears in the spring issue of Brandeis Magazine http://www.brandeis.edu/magazine/2012/spring/featured-stories/sandel.html  Sandel’s latest book, “What Money Can’t Buy,” shows how market values have encroached on every aspect of our lives, and asks whether there are some things — the right to pollute, for example, in “cap and trade” schemes — that money should not be able to buy.  I spent an afternoon with Sandel at Harvard, and watched him hold a room full of undergrads spellbound.
