Moral Philosophy Goes Viral

An article I wrote about Michael Sandel, the rock star of moral philosophy, appears in the spring issue of Brandeis Magazine  Sandel’s latest book, “What Money Can’t Buy,” shows how market values have encroached on every aspect of our lives, and asks whether there are some things — the right to pollute, for example, in “cap and trade” schemes — that money should not be able to buy.  I spent an afternoon with Sandel at Harvard, and watched him hold a room full of undergrads spellbound.
